Actor Release Forms (one for each actor)

We are now going to look at the actor release forms which have to be signed by each one of our actors that will be appearing in our short film. The actor release forms need to be done and considered as they are a very important and vital part of the filming process and it gives us consent from our actors that they can take part in our film.
There are also terms and conditions that the actors need to give their consent to before they sign the actor release forms as the terms and conditions need to be stuck to and followed.

Terms and Conditions

Preparing for Shooting

Another thing we have to consider before we can begin the filming process of our short film grief is the preparing for shooting which is deciding and organizing which members of the group are going to be doing what during the filming of our short film Grief. It is important to plan this before hand because no one would know what they would be doing otherwise when we go out to film and it would cause confusion and also set us back from filming.

Below is a table of what everyone will be doing on each day we will be filming;

Here is a checklist of all the jobs that each member of the production team will have to carry out;

There are a few areas of filming that we are particularly worried about.
  • The first thing we are worried about is the scene where Jack and Carly are on the swings. This is because we aren't able to control where the swings go or how fast they go and it is going to be very difficult to reach the desired effect that we want to create. Therefore before we film the official scene for our short film we are going to have a few practice attempts to make sure we get it perfect so we don't waste time on the actual filming day.
My next post will be the Actor Release forms.

Shooting Schedule

Before we can even start any of the filming process for our short film Grief, we need to create a shooting schedule in order to ensure that all cast and crew would be available for filming on the same days.

I am now going to embed the shooting schedule for our short film Grief, it includes all relevant information such as; the location we are filming, the date we are filming, the actors that are needed for filming, the props needed for filming and the equipment needed for filming.

Here is our shooting schedule for our short film Grief;

My next post is going to be preparing for shooting.

Animatic

In last years AS Media project I had to carry out some animatic research because I had never created an one before, if you want to read through my animatic research from last year click here

I am now going to show you mine and my group's finished animatic. We worked together as a group to create a storyboard and create a finalised animatic from that storyboard. Here it is;

My next post will be the shooting schedule.

Storyboard

After carrying out all of the costume, prop and location research we then had to create a storyboard of each scene out of our short film. We had to include an image of what was happening in each scene and we also had to include the shot types and transitions.

If you would like to look at my storyboard research that I did in my AS Media course then click here

Here is the storyboard for our short film Grief;

Prop Research

In this post I am going to be doing some prop research. I am going to be telling you the props we will be using in our short film, the representation of those props and similar props to ours in existing real media products.
To see the prop research I did last year for my AS Media course last year click here.

Here are the props that we are going to be using in each scene.

Walking through the town (Scene 1)

The first prop we will be using is a teddy bear, this will be in most of the scenes that we are doing. The teddy bear symbolises Carly and the fact that she is no longer there anymore, especially when we see Jack carrying it around. This is the kind of teddy bear that we are going to use for our short film;

Image result for small teddy bear

I am now going to show you a real media product that also uses a teddy bear. The film that I found is Ted. Ted is a teddy bear and is one of the main characters in the film. John Bennett, the other main character, wishes that his teddy bear would come alive. As he got older his wish came true and they become best friends. Here is the bear;

Image result for ted

The bear that we are using in our short film represents the childlike personalities of Jack and Carly, they are best friends and have been since they were little which is represented through the use of the bear because bears are seen as being very childish. A lot of children keep their bears when they are older from when they are little as a kind of comfort blanket. This represents exactly what Jack is doing, he keeps the bear to remember Carly by. The bear will be very battered which shows that it has been owned for a very long time, the bear was Carly's and then when Carly died Jack kept the bear which represents how precious and sentimental the bear is to Jack. The fact that the teddy bear is tatty and old represents the opposite of comfort and safety. The bear acts almost as a surrogate for comfort for Jack especially when the audience fid out that Carly is dead. Jack is comforted by the false sense of security that the teddy bear brings him.

Another prop we will be using is a mobile phone. This prop will be used by both Carly and Jack in the town scene where they will be taking pictures of themselves and each other.

Image result for i phone 6

I am now going to show you a real media product that uses a phone. The film that I have found is Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol. Whenever Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) needed anything, he just made a quick phone call. In one scene in the film we see him making a phone call to somebody in the middle of a desert in Dubai.

Image result for mission impossible ghost protocol phone scene

The phone used in the film represents the youth of Jack and Carly. They are just two friends that go out together and take pictures of their daily activities in order to make memories to look back on, this foreshadows what happens later on in the film when we realize Carly has gone and Jack is looking back at the photos that he took when Carly was alive. Jack will have the latest version of iPhone which shows that he likes to show off and again could represent another aspect of their childlike personalities.

Carly and Jack at the Pictures - Scene 3
In this scene we will be using popcorn and drinks as a prop. This is the scene where Jack and Carly go to the cinemas together.
Image result for cinema popcorn
Image result for cinema drink

I am now going to show you a real media product that uses popcorn and drinks as a prop. The film that I have found is Scary Movie. In the film we see Brenda eating a bowl of popcorn while she is watching a scary film.

Image result for scary movie popcorn gif

Another film that I have found that uses a drink as a prop in the cinema is Scream. We see the main character in a scream mask in the cinema watching a film while having a drink.

Image result for scream cinema scene

The drink and popcorn used in the cinema scene is very stereotypical. Whenever friends go to the cinema together to watch a film they always go and get a box of popcorn and a drink. This represents the social factor of going to the cinemas, it is a way of friends to hang out together which represents what Carly and Jack do in the film. Carly and Jack will be drinking Coke when they are at the cinema, this is stereotypically what people drink when they go to the cinema. Kids are always wanting to drink fizzy drinks and therefore could represent their childlike personalities.

Carly and Jack in the Park - Scene 4

In this scene the prop that we will be using is the swings. Carly and Jack will race to the swings to see who can get there first. We will then see them on the swings laughing and joking together.

Image result for swings

I am now going to show you a real media product that uses swings as a prop. The film that I have found is the conjuring 2. The scene is of Janet and Vera having a conversation on the swings about Janet's experiences with the paranormal.

Image result for conjuring swings

The swings that are used in our short film, again, represent the childlike personalities of Carly and Jack. Swings are often associated with children going to play in the park with their friends. When we realize Carly has gone and is no longer there it also represents the fact that Jack is trying to hold on to his youth from when Carly was alive. He is almost using the swings as a way to bring Carly or at least Carly's memory back.

Jack and Carly sharing chips on the bench - Scene 5

In this scene the prop that we will be using is chips. Jack and Carly will be siting on a bench together sharing a bag of chips while talking and going through their photos that they took earlier on in the day.

Image result for bag of chips

I am now going to show you a real media product that uses chips as a prop. The film that I have found is called supersize me. This is a film that sees director Morgan Spurlock live on nothing but MacDonald's food for an entire month including chips.

Image result for supersize me

The chips that are used in our short film represent the close relationship that Carly and Jack have when we see them sharing a bag of chips. If you were to buy chips with someone who you didn't have a close relationship with then you wouldn't share food. It represents their friendship. Also when we see Jack eating chips when Carly isn't there, it represents the fact that Jack is on his own and he feels isolated.

Jack at the Memorial Bench - Scene 6

In this scene we see Jack sitting at the memorial bench where Carly's picture is. The bench is like a shrine to Carly. We see Jack sitting on the bench and then put a flower by where Carly's picture is. The prop I am going to be talking about for this scene is the memorial bench.

Image result for memorial bench

The memorial bench used in our short film represents the heartache that Jack is feeling after losing his best friend Carly. Memorial benches are stereotypical of elderly people as you wouldn't expect or it would come as a shock to find out that Carly dies so young. So the fact that the memorial bench is for such as young girl it represents how hard it must be for Jack to cope with what has happened, however, it could represent the fact that Jack has come to terms with the fact that Carly has gone.

Official Props List

I am now going to show you an official props list, this tells you what scene it is and what prop is in each of those scenes;

My next post will be the storyboard.

Costume Research

The costume research is also an important part within the research period of our film. The costume research gives us an idea of what the characters will be wearing and give us an idea of the mis en scene that we will need to include in order to make the film look professional.

Jack
Jack is our main character, seen all the way throughout the film. The audience will see him going through a journey of grief and memories. We need to show this journey of grief through the use of Mis En Scene using different colors in order to show the emotional state he is in. I will now show you the clothes he will be wearing throughout the short film.
Image result for marc morrall

Marc Morrall - playing Jack

Present day scenes - Park bench / cinema / street/ High street bench

Black Skinny Jeans

The black skinny jeans will be used throughout the film. We used the color black for the jeans because it is an unemotional color it will represent the emotion that Jack will be feeling throughout the film. The black skinny jeans are also a typical stereotype of what teenage boys wear on an every day basis, he is a typical teenager that has gone through a lot.

I did some research on what the color black actually means. Here's what I found out.
  • The color black relates to the hidden, the secretive and the unknown, and as a result it creates an air of mystery. It keeps things bottled up inside, hidden from the world.
  • In color psychology this color gives protection from external emotional stress.
  • It creates a barrier between itself and the outside world, providing comfort while protecting its emotions and feelings, and hiding its vulnerabilities, insecurities and lack of self confidence.
  • Black is the absorption of all color and the absence of light.
  • Black hides, while white brings to light.
  • What black covers, white uncovers.
  • We all use black at various times to hide from the world around us in one way or another. Some of us use it to hide our weight; others among us use it to hide our feelings, our fears or our insecurities.
  • In color psychology, black means power and control, hanging on to information and things rather than giving out to others.
I actually found this interesting, how it related to or film quite well. One of the points were that the color black relates to the hidden, the secretive and the unknown, and as a result it creates an air of mystery. It keeps things bottled up inside, hidden from the world. This relates to our film because Jack is keeping his feelings bottled up, he hasn't come to realization that Carly is no longer there, he is hidden away from the real world and stuck in the past.

Red and black shirt

Image result for black and red shirt for men

The red and black shirt will also be used throughout the film. We used the color red because it could represent a number of things including the love he felt for Carly, the death of Carly or the pain he is feeling because of Carly's death. The shirt is also a stereotypical shirt that a teenage boy in this era would wear. I also did some research as to what the color red means and what it could symbolize in our film.
  • This color is a warm and positive color associated with our most physical needs and our will to survive. It exudes a strong and powerful masculine energy.
  • Red is energizing. It excites the emotions and motivates us to take action.
  • It signifies a pioneering spirit and leadership qualities, promoting ambition and determination.
  • It is also strong-willed and can give confidence to those who are shy or lacking in will power.
  • Being the color of physical movement, the color red awakens our physical life force.
  • It is the color of sexuality and can stimulate deeper and more intimate passions in us, such as love and sex on the positive side or revenge and anger on the negative.
The color red will be represented in our film as being love, he loved Carly as a friend and misses him dearly, but he hasn't come to the realization that Carly is no longer there and therefore will also represent the physical needs of Jack and the will to survive, his will to survive is with Carly and that is why he holds on to the memory of her.

Comparing to existing media products.

In the film Neighbors, Dave one of the main characters wears a blue checkered shirt and black skinny jeans in one of the scenes, He seems like a character that is spontaneous and adventurous with a sense of fun, this is shown through the use of Mis En Scene, the brightly colored clothing shows that he is a happy and fun character, like the representation of a teenager in university.

Memory scenes
In the scenes that he is remembering Carly, he will be wearing more or less the same thing because he is feeling nostalgic, hes trying to make the moment the same so it feels the same. The only thing he wears differently is a hoodie because time has moved on since the memory and the weather has changed slightly in temperature. He is still also in grief and so he doesn't really take much care in his appearance and what people think about him.

The grey Hoodie will be worn in the present scenes within the film where he is grieving from losing Carly. I have done some research in order to find out what the representation of the hoodie could be. Here's what I found out.

  • It is a detached, neutral, impartial.
  • It is neither black nor white, like Jack is neither happy nor sad he is grieving, but hasn't quite come to the realization of it yet.
  • It is an emotionless color like Jack.  He has become slightly emotionless and unaware of his surroundings, just trying to remember the times he had with Carly.
  • It is subdued, quiet and reserved. It does not stimulate, energize, rejuvenate or excite like Jack. It also means that you are boring, a drab and depressing like Jack because of the grief.

In this film Social Network The main character Mark wears a hoodie for most of the beginning, he is a lowlife just trying to get his idea of the ground trying to impress the right people. He is just a typical student, doesn't really care what he looks like and therefore wears hoodies because they are comfortable and casual to do his research in.

Carly

Carly is another main character of the story, she isnt actually there, it is Jack's memories that make her seem like shes there. She is a typical teenage which is shown through the use of Mis En Scene who unfortunately has had their life cut short. But Jack is willing to remember her and the good times they had together.
Ellie Aldridge playing Carly

Jacks memories scenes

White top

Carly will be wearing a white top that stereotypical teenage girls wear when going out with friends. The white represents purity but could also represent her death, when thinking about white most people think about angels, going to heaven, the purity of heaven and how it is peaceful. Jack is thinking of Carly being peaceful in heaven. To find out what the colour white actually represented I did some research and this is what I found out.
  • White is color at its most complete and pure, the color of perfection. The color meaning of white is purity, innocence, wholeness and completion.
  • In color psychology white is the color of new beginnings, wiping the slate clean, so to speak. It is the blank canvas waiting to be written upon. While white isn't stimulating to the senses, it opens the way for the creation of anything the mind can conceive.

Comparison to existing media products.

In American Ultra the one of the main characters in the film wears a white top, she is shown as being innocent and a typical teenager in the start of the film, just typical students in a town. The white top represents the purity and as soon as this gets dirty she is no longer pure and this is when things start going wrong.

Blue jeans

Carly will be wearing ripped skinny blue jeans which is also another stereotype of a typical teenager. But it also represents her death, nothing is no longer perfect any more, the once perfect life has now created holes in other people lives including Jacks. It may also represent the death of her because she's torn and no longer able to be fixed, once the damage has been done, it has been done.

Comparison to existing media products.

In the film "The diary of a teenage girl" the main character wears blue skinny jeans. she is a typical teenager living life following the stereotypes as does Carly in our short film also does in the short film.

After doing some research we created a plan for the character based on what they are going to be wearing for the scenes.

Risk Assessment

In this post I will be embedding a document of our formal risk assessment. This document will assess all of the risks involved in creating our short film Grief.
I have graded everything to see whether they are LOW risk, MEDIUM risk or HIGH risk, depending on how severe the risk is and the likelihood of how much people could get hurt

Here is the document;

Location Reasearch

Before we can even begin to think about the filming process of our short film, first we have to carry out some research. This post is going to be all about location research including; the locations we are using for our short film Grief, also real media products that use similar locations to ours and finally what the locations represent about the film and the characters.

Below I am going to be embedding a prezi showing all the locations that we will be using for our short film;

School Theater

One of the locations we will be using is the school theater. This is going to be used for the scene where Jack and Carly are at the cinema together.

For this scene we will be using the school theater but making it look like we are at the cinema. We are hoping to achieve this by showing the characters facial expressions throughout the scene and we also hope to achieve this by using 3 point lighting to make it look like the reflection from the cinema screen on the characters faces.

Image result for twilight cinema scene

I have found a scene that is similar to the scene out of our short film. The film that this scene is from is Twilight. This is similar to our short film in a way because, even though there is three of them, they are all out in the cinema together watching a film as friends just like the characters in our short film Grief.

Town Center

Another location we will be using is Cannock town center. This will be the scene where Carly and Jack are walking through the town laughing and joking together.

Image result for cannock town centre

We chose the town center because we thought it would be a natural environment for friends to be in. A lot of friends stereotypically go shopping together for a day out so we thought this would be the perfect setting and location to do it in. There are a lot of shops around and it is fairly quiet throughout certain parts of the day so we thought it would be the perfect location for this scene.

Related image

This scene that I have chosen is from a film called friends with benefits. This represents the scene from our short film perfectly because they are two friends walking through the park together, they are talking and joking together. Just like jack and Carly are in our short film.

Bench

Another location we will be using is the bench outside the chip shop. This is the scene where Jack and Carly are sharing chips.

Image result for cannock park bench

This scene represents the fact that Carly and Jack are very close friends. This is because they are sitting on a bench in a quiet place together sharing chips. You wouldn't really share chips with someone who you didn't really know therefore representing that they are close friends.

Image result for forrest gump bench scene

The scene that I have chosen is from Forrest Gump. This is similar to the scene from our film. In Forrest Gump they are two strangers, however, he is still sharing his chocolates with the woman. Which is similar to Jack and Carly sharing their chips together.

Park

Another location we will be using is the park. This will be the scene where Jack and Carly are on the swings together talking and joking together.

Image result for cannock park

This scene represents the fact that Carly and Jack don't take life or each other too seriously and they are really good friends. When you think of a park you think of children playing in the park together which represents Jack and Carly perfectly because they are both just like big children who love to have a laugh.

My next post will be the risk assessment.

Film Treatment

In this post I am going to be talking about film treatments. A film treatment is a piece of work, typically the step between scene cards and the first draft of a screenplay for a motion picture. It is generally longer and more detailed than an outline and it may include details of directional style that an outline leaves out. Treatments read like a short story but are told in the present tense and describe events as they happen.

Here is an example of a film treatment made for a real film;

A film treatment should;
  • Have a clear title at the start stating the name of the film
  • Includes important dialogue only
  • When a new character is introduced it needs to be in capital letters, so we can clearly see when a new character has entered the plot
  • For short films a treatment is generally laid out as a short story, however, longer films can be up to 60 pages long
  • Some include little directions to show how the scene will be portrayed or shown in the film
This treatment for I am legend differs from our treatment because this one is much longer than ours because ours is a short film so it will only be about 2 pages long. This is because we are only doing a short film.

Below I am going to embed our own film treatment for our short film Grief;

Target Audience research and Identification

A part of our research for our main product we have to create and produce a target audience profile (TAP) and also research some similar films to our short film Grief, to look at what their target audience is. This will give us a better idea about who to aim our film at and who our preferred target audience will be and also the age ranges of people who watch those kinds of films.

Below I am going to embed some examples of films that are similar to our short film Grief which is a 12A.

The Notebook

Title - The Notebook

The notebook is a drama, the same as our short film is so therefore I thought it would be a perfect match for our short film Grief. Also 15-24 is around the age range that we were looking for for our short film and this is around that age range with 15% of people that like and view the notebook. Therefore I thought it would be perfect for my research into finding the perfect target audience for our short film Grief.

If I Stay

Title - If I Stay

If I Stay is a drama, the same as our short film Grief. Therefore I thought it would be the perfect match for our short film. Also 12-14 is the age that we are looking to aim Grief at and this film has 11% of people who have viewed and liked this film. Therefore I thought it would be perfect for my research into finding the perfect target audience for our short film Grief.

50 First Dates

Title - 50 First Dates

50 First Dates is a romance which is also another thing we wanted to capture in our short film Grief. We wanted our short film to be a mixture of drama and romance. Therefore I thought 50 First Dates was the perfect film to talk about in the research for my target audience as it is a mixture of both drama and romance. Also 12-14 is the age that we are looking to aim for with our short film and 50 First Dates has a percentage of 9% of people who like and watch this film. Therefore I thought it would be the perfect film to talk about in the research for my target audience.

 We also created an emaze on our perfect target audience;

We also had to create a Target Audience Profile (TAP) along with our research which is a profile of the type of person we would like for our target audience for our short film Grief. Here is our TAP;

Final Film Idea Pitch (Commissioning Interview Continued)

Here is the improved ideas for our film idea. Previously I told you that our short film didn't get commissioned. We had to put some "meat on the bones" so here is our ideas that we have come up with to improve our short film idea and hopefully get it commissioned this time;

I can now tell you that after pitching our improved ideas to the teacher ..... our short film did get commissioned!!!!
So I am now going to get on with my posts to prepare for our short film.

Final Film Idea Pitch (Commissioning Interview / Team Pitch)

In this post I am going to be taking you through our team interview to determine whether our film idea got commissioned or not.

Below I am going to embed our team interview and I am also going to be evaluating it, you will also find out whether our film idea got commissioned or not;

So after watching the video you will have found out that our film didn't get commissioned I am now going to evaluate it and explain why.

Throughout the interview we talked about our film idea including the plot, character profile, costume, locations, props etc.

At the end of the interview we all received feedback for the teacher telling us what we needed to do to improve our film idea and he also asked us questions to clear up a few things that he didn't understand.

The reason our film didn't get commissioned was because we didn't have "enough meat on the bones" of our plot. There were many parts of our film idea that were very good and certain aspects of our film that we could make look very professional. However, there were certain aspects of our film that weren't so good. For example, the part of the story that involved the teddy bear wasn't very well thought out. We had to make sure that no one would get confused about the significance of the teddy bear we had to try and strategically make it clear that the bear represents Carly and the fact that she is no longer in Jack's life.

After we received the feedback we then had to go away as a team and talk through how to improve the film idea and put more "meat on the bones."

Here I am going to embed the presentation that we used for our short film idea;

My next post will be the update of the commissioning interview and talk through the improvements that we have made as a team.

R&P Schedule

Now that we have decided the idea for our film and we have decided on our production team name and logo, then next thing we did was give each other individual jobs to do in order to get the work completed effectively and on time. We all talked through our strengths and weaknesses and then decided on the tasks we were going to set each other.

Here is what we decided for each member of the group;

Presentation of Each Individual Members Film Ideas

In this post I am going to be talking through each members individual film pitch idea from my group. I am going to be talking through their ideas for their short films and evaluating each of their ideas. I am then going to reveal which short film we have decided to use for our A2 Media project.

The first one I am going to be talking about is my own short film idea. My short film is titled body image. The basic plot involves two women, one called Sophie aged 19 who struggles with her weight and another girl called Hollie also aged 19 who struggles with her anorexia. My short film follows both of their stories and how they become friends in the end and help each other through their issues.

I am now going to embed the pitch I did explaining what my short film is about;

I did have a few problems with my film idea that were made clear at the end of my film pitch and here they are;

How are you going to find two actors that will be willing to portray the characters?

To overcome this problem I would't find an actor who is overweight and one who is anorexic. I would just find two actors that were slightly different so you would be able to see the contrast between the two, instead of finding two actors that are miles apart.

How are people going to be able to tell the difference between the two characters?

People will be able to tell the difference between the two characters because there will be two voiceovers, one of Sophie and one of Hollie. Viewers will be able to tell which voiceover is which because when Sophie's story is on the screen, the voice over of Sophie will be playing. In turn, when Hollie's story is on the screen, the voice over of Hollie is playing so you will easily be able to distinguish between the two characters.

Will the short film be 5 minutes or less?

My short film will be 5 minutes or less because even though there sounds like a lot of things going into it, there isn't. At the start of my short film most of the live action will be in the form of a montage showing the day to day lives of both Sophie and Hollie. This will shorten the film by quite a lot ensuring that it will last 5 minutes or less.

The next short film I am going to be talking about is Elisa's. Elisa's short film in titles Grief. The basic plot of the film involves two friends, one called Jack and the other one called Carly. The film shows them going through day to day activities together such as, going to the cinemas, going for walks together etc. We then find out at the end of the film that Carly is dead.

I am now going to embed the pitch she did explaining what her short film is about;

There were a few problems with her film idea that were made clear at the end of her film pitch. She then explained what she would do to overcome these problems.

The next short film I am going to be talking about is Nareece's. Nareece's short film is based on her own experience. It is about a girl called Lucy who goes for a job interview, the day doesn't go very well. It ends up raining and she ends up being late for the interview. A woman then goes up to Lucy and hands her a penny which makes her feel better and she starts feeling happier.

Again there were a few problems with her short film idea that were made clear at the end of her film pitch. She then explained what she would do to overcome these problems.

The final short film I am going to be talking about is Sarah's. Sarah's short film is titled the Darkness within. It is about a boy called Otto, when his mother died he started getting bullied by his friends, family and strangers. He has witnessed things such as mental, physical and cyber bullying, which has all taken part in the reasoning behind the mental state he is in now. An older version of himself appears in front of him and tells him that life doesn't have to be like this anymore. Throughout the film we see the older version of himself trying to reunite with the younger version of himself and get himself back to a normal mental state and get on with his life.

I am now going to reveal the short film that we have decided to use for our A2 Media project;

We have decided as a group to go with Elisa's short film idea. The reason we decided to go for this one was because we felt like we could do a lot with this film and that there were so many options and paths we could take with the film. We all liked the idea of trying to bring across the idea that Carly was once in Jacks like but she no longer exists. We thought it was a very creative idea that we could do a lot with and that has a lot of room for fresh new ideas.

We didn't go for Sarah's film idea because we thought it would be too complicated to do and also we thought it would be hard to condense all of the story down into just 5 minutes. This is why we didn't choose Sarah's film idea.

We didn't choose Nareeces idea because there would have been too many obstacles to overcome. For example, in one scene in her short film we needed to film in a train station. It would have been very hard to get permission to film on the train station because of the large amount of people that would be walking past, we couldn't get everyone's permission for them to be involved in the short film. Also one scene we needed to film Lucy standing in the rain. This would have been very difficult because we would have needed to wait for a day that was raining and it might not. Also it would have been very difficult to find a actor who would have been willing to stand in the rain and get wet.

My next post will be the R&P Schedule.

Production Team name and Logo

So now that we have talked through our film idea and we have talked through our individual strengths within the team. It is now time to come up with our team name and logo.

The first thing we did was come up with a name that had meaning behind it so we came up with Primal Embassy. We all had a discussion about it and we thought it was the perfect name for our team and here's why;

Primal - The word primal is of very high importance and is very strong and powerful. It means we can work effectively together as a team and represents the work ethic of our group.

Embassy - A group of people who work together to represent themselves. This describes our group very well. We are working together as a group to present ourselves and our group work in an effective way.

After looking at the two definitions and applying them to our group we thought this would be the perfect name for our production team. After deciding on the name we then came up with the logo. Sticking with the primal theme here it is;

My next post will be the presentation and evaluation of each individual members film ideas (individual pitch).
